LIP AUGMENTATION

We’re all subject to the “aging” process. Age first appears in our faces. As we age our once full, plump lips begin to sag and lose their contour and fullness. Also, the cupids bow begins to thin and flatten out as the color fades. Lip augmentation effectively corrects these problems and restores what aging takes away.

ADVANTA LIP IMPLANT PROCEDURE OVERVIEW:
- This is an office procedure performed under local anesthesia.
- Hidden incisions are made inside or at the corners of your mouth
- The Advanta tube implants are put into place
- The incisions are closed
WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER YOUR PROCEDURE
Some patients are able to return to their regular routine right after the procedure. If you were sedated – plan to take it easy the rest of the day. Swelling and bruising will last for several days then gradually fade. Discomfort is usually minimal and easily controlled with oral pain medication if needed.

LIP ADVANCEMENT (Lip Shortening/Lip Lift)
Lip advancement is a surgical procedure used to “lift” and enhance the upper lip and can also be used to reshape the lower lip. Lip advancement or “lip lift” can be a very satisfying procedure for those with “thin” lips due to genetics or aging – it can produce a fuller more well-defined set of lips --permanently!
LIP ADVANCEMENT PROCEDURE OVERVIEW
- Your face will be cleaned – you will be draped
- Pre-operative markings will outline the procedure
- Your lip tissues will be injected with local anesthetic
- Incisions will be made and skin excised appropriately
- Lifting and/or reshaping is done
- The skin is sutured back together creating a higher lip
- Antibiotic ointment will be applied to your lips
WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER LIP ADVANCEMENT SURGERY:
You will experience some numbness and loss of sensation along with swelling and bruising. This all diminishes over time – the swelling is usually reduced in 7-10 days – but may persist as long as a few weeks. Ice packs will help reduce swelling and manage discomfort. You will need to avoid the sun and be on a liquid diet as directed. The numbness may persist for 4-6 weeks – but varies with each patient. Within a short time you will be able to enjoy the new shape and symmetry of your lips.
