BROWLIFT SURGERY – ENDOSCOPIC (Endobrow)
The most advanced – less invasive surgical approach to “lift” the eyebrows.
Every year thousands of men and women choose to have an eyebrow lift to eliminate lines and furrows in the forehead: to get rid of sad, droopy eyes and to create a smoother – more youthful appearance. An endoscopic eyebrow lift raises the eyebrow to a more youthful level so those tired, sad, droopy eyes no longer exist. Browlift (endobrow) is a safe, effective procedure using the latest “state-of-the-art” techniques and instruments to give our patients outstanding results.
PREPARATION FOR ENDOSCOPIC BROWLIFT (Endobrow) SURGERY:
- Eat a nutrient rich diet to help your body heal and recover faster.
- If you smoke-please refrain for 2 weeks before and several weeks after surgery.
- Avoid taking aspiring and ibuprofen products.
- Discuss all medications, vitamins and herbals with your surgeon.
- Do not eat or drink after midnight the night before surgery.
- Be sure you do not have a sunburn the day of surgery.
- Do not wear makeup or contact lenses to surgery.
- Have someone drive you the day of surgery and plan to stay with you a day or two to help you.
PROCEDURE-ENDOSCOPIC BROWLIFT (Endobrow)
- You will be draped and your face will be cleaned with antiseptic solution.
- You will be given a mild sedation and treatment areas will be anesthetized.
- 2-3 small incisions will be made inconspicuously in the hairline.
- Using the endoscope and another instrument – the forehead is separated from the bone, corrugator muscles are released, the brow (if needed) is lifted to its new position.
- Sutures or staples are used to hold the flap in place for a few weeks.
- Sutures are used to close the incisions.
- The procedure takes from 1-2 hours depending on the extensiveness.
- Browlift – Endobrow can be done along with Eyelid Lift – for example.
WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER ENDOSCOPIC BROWLIFT (Endobrow):
Numbness, swelling and some discomfort at the incision sites is normal after your surgery. Oral pain medication will be used to control the discomfort – which goes away quickly – along with the numbness and swelling. Your face will be lightly bandaged and these will be removed in 2-3 days. The sutures are usually removed in 1-3 weeks. You will be up and about in 1-2 days, but you will need to take it easy for a few days. You will be able to shower and shampoo your hair after bandage removal, and patients normally return to work within 10 days, however you must avoid rigorous activity for a while. We recommend using mineral cosmetic makeup to camouflage any remaining swelling and bruising. Our patients have been very pleased with Jane Iredale mineral cosmetic makeup and you can ask about it in our skin care center.
There are many reasons people decide to have a “browlift.” The end results are a smooth, more youthful appearance without the lines, wrinkles, furrows and that tired, “sometimes angry” look that can result with lifestyle and normal ageing. Using the most current “cutting edge” techniques and instruments – combined with our extensive expertise – we are able to achiever wonderful results. We can’t stop the clock from ticking – but we can turn it back a bit!
DIRECT BROWLIFT
The oldest and simplest surgical approach to a less invasive eyebrow lift.
Gravity and age or genetic inclination are the most common causes of ptosis or droopy eyebrows. The normal age-related changes occur in the face as skin and muscles begin to lose tone after years of passive stretching and loss of support. So gravity takes over and we begin to notice lines, wrinkles, folds and “droopy often sad” looking eyes as the forehead starts slipping downward. Direct browlift is a safe and effective surgical approach to correct this problem. It can be performed on any patient, but is ideally suited for those with healthy, heavy brows. The direct browlift can be done on both brows or one (unilateral).
PREPARATION FOR DIRECT BROWLIFT:
- Eat a nutrient rich diet to help your body heal and recover faster.
- If you smoke-please refrain for 2 weeks before and several weeks after surgery.
- Avoid taking aspirin and ibuprofen products.
- Discuss all medications, vitamins and herbals with your surgeon.

- Be sure you do not have a sunburn the day of surgery.
- Do not wear makeup or contact lenses to surgery.
- Have someone drive you the day of surgery and plan to stay a day or two to help you.
PROCEDURE – DIRECT BROWLIFT:
- You will be draped and your face will be cleaned with antiseptic solution.
- You will be given a mild sedation and treatment areas will be anesthetized.
- Incisions will be placed immediately above the brows –following the natural curve of the eyebrow.
- The forehead is separated from the bone – corrugator muscles are released, and the brows are raised to their new position.
- Sutures or staples are used to hold the flap in place for a few weeks.
- Sutures are used to close the incisions.
- The procedure takes from 1-2 hours depending on the extensiveness.
- Direct Browlift can be done at the same time as Eyelid lift or Facelift for example.
